Missions

The Goodrich United Methodist Church supports a variety of missions on both a local and worldwide basis.

Mobility Worldwide – East Michigan
Mobility Worldwide-East Michigan (MWEM) is a faith-based group started by members of our church. It is affiliated with the parent organization, Mobility Worldwide, located in Columbia, Missouri. The organization produces three wheeled carts for adults and children in poor nations of the world. The carts are given to people who have lost the use of arms or legs due to land mines, disease, birth defects or accidents.

MWEM is made up entirely of volunteers and is designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  Click here to learn more Worldwide and how you can help.

American Red Cross Blood Drives
The American Red Cross Michigan Region plays a key role during crisis situations, by providing a network of services, including: community preparedness, disaster response and family recovery. At GUMC, we host regular blood drives to help make a vital difference to people in need.  Visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/ for more information … and sign up for our Bell Notes to get more information on our next blood drive.

Family Promise of Genesee County
Family Promise’s mission is ending homelessness…one family at a time.  They do this by helping homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.  GUMC has been an active contributor for Family Promise for many years … housing families and supporting this mission in many other ways.  For more information on Family Promise, please click here.

Ugly Quilts
Every Monday morning, September to June, 6-12 people meet to work on to build Ugly Quilts to support and warm the homeless in our local area. Completed quilts are taken to Carriage Town and/or St. Vincent DePaul, where they are immediately put into action.  You can help this Team make a difference by joining the Monday crew, or through your donations for supplies and supporting materials.  Click here for more information.
